Hypercube Media Player provides all the functionality you would expect from an application of this sort: play video files, set up playlists, take a snapshot of the video playing in the application’s interface, load subtitles if you’re watching a video in a foreign language, and so on. The nice thing about Hypercube Media Player is that it comes with a few extra options that you will surely appreciate.

The Hypercube Media Player installation file is a small 2.7Mb executable. Run the executable once you get it off the web and onto your computer, and a setup wizard will help you install the application on your Windows-powered PC. If any additional resources needed for Hypercube Media Player to function properly are necessary, you will be prompted to install them after the Hypercube Media Player installation process completes.

The Hypercube Media Player interface is typical for an application of this type: a window that plays the video at the top, playback buttons at the bottom. If you’ve ever used a media player before, you should immediately feel at home.

And if you’ve ever used a media player before, you would surely find that Hypercube Media Player provides all the functionality you need from an application of this type. Use the application to play videos, set up playlists if you want to view several videos one after another, pause the playback, adjust the volume and display colors, change the aspect ratio, and so on.

I mentioned above that Hypercube Media Player has some extra functionality to offer, functionality that will surely get your attention. One thing the application can do is encrypt media files and ensure only you can view said files. The encrypted files can be played only with Hypercube Media Player; and the application will play them only after the correct password is provided.

Some other examples of handy functionality Hypercube Media Player has to offer are: graphic overlay (overlays an image onto a video), preview videos in the playlist editor, virtual editing, and the option to unpause the playback after a set amount of time (pause the video, go get comfortable in your chair, and the application will unpause the playback).

You have an evaluation period of 30 days to go through all the Hypercube Media Player’s features and functions. After that trial period expires, you will have to get a license to keep using the application.

Hypercube Media Player is a properly good media player and very good choice, especially for those who are always looking to get an extra bit of functionality from their applications.

Pros

You will immediately feel at home with the Hypercube Media Player interface. Play videos, create playlists, load subtitles, and all the other functionality you would expect to get from a media player. It can encrypt and password protect media files. The “unpause in” function comes in handy.

Cons

Free to try for a period of 30 days. The interface isn't terribly appealing.
